The vMCA (Veenstra MCA) is a semi-digital multichannel analyser that was developed by Veenstra (now: Comecer), together with Medusa around 2006. The system combines an analog front-end (a classic "sample and hold circuit) with a digital backend (a microcontroller-based, programmable processing unit. The vMCA communicaties over RS232 and has 1024 channels resolution. The upper 512 channels are used to collect cosmic radiation, the lower channels to capture radiation roughly under 3 MeV.
