vMCA

The vMCA (Veenstra MCA) is a semi-digital multichannel analyzer that Veenstra developed (now: Comecer), together with Medusa, around 2006. The system combines an analog front-end (a classic "sample and hold circuit) with a digital backend (a microcontroller-based, programmable processing unit. The vMCA communicates over RS232 and has 1024 channels resolution. The upper 512 channels collect cosmic radiation, and the lower channels capture radiation under 3 MeV.
