Legacy database
When updating a system from mDOS V3.x to mDOS V4.x, you will likely see a message similar to the one shown on the Storage tab.

This message appears because mDOS V3.x used an internal database to store georeferenced radionuclide concentrations. However, all information contained in this database is also stored in the project's raw JSON files. The database was primarily used to display measurement points on the map and to generate the concentrations.csv file when downloading a project.
mDOS V4.x no longer uses this database. In most cases, it can be safely deleted to free up storage space for new measurements and projects.
The consequence of deleting the database only becomes relevant if you later downgrade the system back to mDOS V3.x. In that case:
Existing projects will no longer display measurement points on the Survey and Projects maps.
The
concentrations.csvfile will no longer be included when downloading a project.
All raw measurement data remains intact and available in the project files. No measurement data is lost by deleting the database.
Downgrading from mDOS V4.x to mDOS V3.x is generally not recommended. However, because deleting the database permanently removes information used by mDOS V3.x, this action is not performed automatically and requires explicit user confirmation.
