MSB-40x mounting brackets

The MSB-40x brackets can be used to mount the Medusa MS-4000 and MS-7300 spectrometers on a survey vehicle. Since there are many ways to attach the detector to a survey platform, these mountings have been designed to be attached to a variety of frames.

The mount is machined from aluminium and consists of two parts joined by a hinge, so the detector can be removed or attached without fully disassembling the bracket. It is fastened with a wing nut, which can be tightened by hand for quick changes in the field. For a more permanent setup, a lock nut can be used instead.

The inside of the mount is lined with rubber, so the aluminium never touches the carbon tube directly.

The MSB-400 can be used stand-alone, and its position on the tube is free to choose, so it can be tailored to whatever survey vehicle is available. Optionally, an MSB-201 mount can be attached underneath an MSB-400 mount to add vibration damping. When using the mounts in combination with MSB-201 mounts, it is possible to use the same mounting footprint as the MS-2000.
